-BANG- That was the sound of the summer transfer window closing. This year there’s been a lot of people getting sucked in and out of that window.
Lawrie Sanchez had managed to get rid of lot players in a fairly short period of time. In my eyes he’s gotten rid of some dead wood in the squad but also lost a few good players in the process. He hasn’t really brought in any big names, but still a core of quality and some decent squad players.

Now we just have to wait to see if Sanchez has identified the right players and positions to improve.
Bring on Spurs!
There is an evil rumour flying around SW6 that the new coach isn’t who he claims to be. The first tip off was when we could spot a yet unnamed Fulham player naked on a huge wall in central London. In close vicinity Lawrie was spotted asking complete strangers what the best parts of that players body was…
It is still unknown what body part “won”, but the grapevine tells us that it has not gone down well with the squad at all. (The female fans seem, however, to have taken a keener interest in Sanchez doings).
Apparently Zat was arrested during his first day as a Villan (villain?) , not a good start at a new club is it.Hopefully the first reports are true and it is his brother who’s the guilty one and as the old saying goes; you can’t chose family. But there was a rumour a few years back saying that Zat “had” to leave Birmingham those 8 long years ago due to being mixed up in gangs in Brum. Hopefully that history won’t come back and haunt him.
I’m over the moon due to the fact that we got £3.5 mill for Zat, I can’t believe our luck! Who could have thought someone would pay that kind of money for him? I’ll still miss the guy since he’s a nice bloke and the closest to a Fulham through-and-through player we had, but with that kind of compensation I can only say:
Thank you Zat and good luck in the Dark country!
The Swedish Fulham blogg, I huvudet på en Cottager (Inside the head of a Cottager) last night revealed the ultimate proof that Fulham truly is the big brother in SW6. Some of you probably know of the Canal Plus televison network who owns the rights to broadcast the premiership in many countries outside of the UK. The have published a fans preview of the upcoming season and the Chelsea fan Oskar Karlström has given his view on his team and the expectations on the 2007/2008 season. All well so far, but at the bottom of the page there is a link to a forum (that normally would be a Chelsea forum) where one can discuss the club. The link is however going to the FFC Sweden forum! Lovely stuff Canal Plus 🙂
Whilst I, without shame, stealing a few ideas from the above mentioned blog I might as well mention that they are reporting that Lawrie Sanchez is reported to be the main feature in a MTV show. I did miss the show so I can’t confirm that it was the case…
Finally, the reactions on the new “3rd Kit”, that was released yesterday, are very varied. Anything from lovely to “looks like a pyjamas” has been the judgement. What do you think?
Not sure if you’ve been able to miss the fact that we got beaten by a glorified pub team on Friday night in our last pre-season friendly before the premiership starts. All jokes aside, my relationship to QPR isn’t as bad as some of our fans who are born and raised in SW6 but that doesn’t mean that a loss to them at this point in time is easy to handle. Sure it was a friendly, but no matter what players Sanchez plays we shall not lose this game.
Granted, he did play a weakened side for some reason, but as many posters has said on T-F-i why didn’t he play a team that would be as close to what we can expect to see at the Emirates stadium in weeks time?
In my last post I put forward my worries of the preference that Sanchez shows towards his Northern Irish and English players. Again I’d like to raise this topic and ask why in the world didn’t Volzy or Rosie start at right back and why did Christianval start on the bench too. The defence is my main concern and here we are not using some of our best performers.
What makes the loss even harder to accept is the fact that both QPR goals were scored by 17 year old Chelsea starlet Ben Sahar who ply his trade on loan at QPR.
I really hope the old saying is true: “Poor rehearsal, great opening”.
