Fulham are one of several Premier League sides interested in signing Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron, according to Talksport.
The Paraguayan international is one of several fringe players who may leave St. James’ Park in the closing days of the transfer window to free up funds for Eddie Howe to bring a new right winger. Almiron, who can play either on the right flank as an attacking midfielder, has scored 30 goals in 209 games for the Magpies since joining the Geordies from Atlanta United in a £21m deal in January 2019.
The 30 year-old, who has won 58 senior caps for his country, has a little under two years to run on his current contract. Fulham boss Marco Silva admitted last week that he was searching for another winger to complete the Whites’ transfer business and the Londoners are now pursuing new targets having failed in attempt to bring French starlet Rayan Cherki to Craven Cottage.
An American website reports elsewhere that Newcastle were looking for £15m for Almiron from Tim Ream’s new employers. This must be an attempt to spark some sort of late window bidding war for the player by Newcastle as surely we aren’t silly enough to spend that sort of money on a 30 year-old who hardly plays Premier League football any more?
we don’t want a 30 year old who has seen his better days. 15/20 million is ridiculous. Nelson from Arsenal looks a much better option of the two
No way ! 30 years old ! 15m ! Fringe Player … agree with others Nelson .
He’s too old get someone younger who we can sell on at a later time it’s better business sense surely.
I agree go for the younger better option Nelson. The Arsenal link up could be very productive.
Let’s go for Nuamah or Nelson not a 30 year old
He’s got a face that only his mother could love, with that continual facial grimaced look.
