Fulham forward Jay Stansfield scored a vital winner for Birmingham City against Preston North End at St. Andrew’s this afternoon.

The England under-21 international’s cool finish after a solo run from the halfway line was his eleventh goal of an impressive loan spell at Blues and earned Gary Rowett his first win in his second spell as the club’s manager.

In a successful day for Fulham’s loanees, Luke Harris scored the equaliser as Exeter City came from behind to beat relegation-threatened Cheltenham Town. Martial Godo scored for Wigan Athletic but the Latics were well beaten at Cambridge United, whilst Kieron Bowie set up the first goal for Northampton Town in a 2-0 win over Port Vale.
