Joao Palhinha has told a Portuguese podcast that the passion of the Fulham fans gives him ‘fuel’ to keep delivering dominant performances in midfield.

The tough tackler midfielder, who leads the English top flight in tackles for a second successive season, talked about his move to Fulham, the influence of Marco Silva and how he has settled in London and loves live at Craven Cottage in the latest episode of the 1 PARA 1 Podcast with Pedro Pinto.

Palhinha said:

“I always felt that English football relates to what I do as a player, regarding my characteristics. I saw a very interesting project here at Fulham. I’ve always trusted the coach, Marco Silva, who made his best efforts for to come here, and I felt it was the best step for my career. I think my playing characteristics are defined by the passion I have for the game, the hunger. The atmosphere in England, every time I hit the ground and they make all that noise, it fuels me, they push me as well.
