A stoppage-time winner from Logan Briggs gave Leicester City’s under 21s a 1-0 win over Fulham and kept the Foxes’ hopes of reaching the knockout phase of the Premier League Cup alive.

Briggs fired home in the first minute of added time to give Ben Petty’s side a vital victory after a dour ninety minutes. City were dogged in defence but chances were few and far between on a windy night at Seagrave. With the visitors already through, Hayden Mullins rung the changes and tried a new tactical approach but Fulham struggled to create clear cut chances after Imani Lanquedoc, who led the line as a false nine, was forced off through injury midway through the first half.

The Foxes, who are above Brentford on goals scored, face the Bees at home in a showdown on Friday 2 February to seal who will join Fulham in qualifying from the group stages.
