Fulham winger Harry Wilson scored both goals as Wales stunned Croatia to keep their European Championship qualifying hopes alive in Cardiff tonight. Wilson’s brace dramatically eased the pressure on Rob Page and proved the perfect way to mark his 50th cap.

The Corwen-born wide man, who saw his first half free-kick brilliantly saved by Dominik Livakovic, gave Wales the lead by lifting a beautiful ball from David Brookes over the Croatian goalkeeper before deftly diverting a fine cross from former Fulham winger Dan James to send the home fans into ecstasy. Substitute Marco Pantelic’s header set up a nervy finale but the hosts held on to register a first win over the Croatians in their last eight attempts and move into second place in Group D.
