Lille are closing in on the signing of Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro according to reports in France.

Having failed in their attempt to sign Reims-bound Keiko Nakamura, LOSC have switched their attentions to Cavaleiro, who has fallen out of favour at Craven Cottage in recent seasons. Le Parisien correspondent Benjamin Quarez broke the story yesterday that Paulo Fonseca’s side were interested in signing the 29 year-old and various French outlets are reporting today that Les Nordistes are confident of concluding a deal for the former Wolves wide man by the weekend.

Cavaleiro, who cost Fulham £15m when his loan from Molineux was made permanent in 2020, has scored seven goals in 77 appearances for the Whites but hasn’t featured for the first team since a 1-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion last March. He spent last season on loan in Turkey, scoring twice in 22 appearances for Alanyaspor, and has a year left on his current contract.
