Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli have offered Marco Silva a massive £40m to leave Fulham and become their new manager.

Plenty of Saudi Pro League sides have poached big name players but Silva, who turned down a lucrative approach from Al-Hilal earlier this summer, would be the first English top flight manager to decamp to Kingdom. Sky Sports News are reporting that Silva’s representatives are meeting with Saudi officials in London whilst the Portuguese head coach has flown out to the United States as the Whites prepare to take part in the Premier League Summer Series.

Silva, who has a year left on his contract at Craven Cottage, has steadfastly refused to commit his long-term future to London’s oldest professional club as he wants to see whether the Whites match his ambitions this summer. The former Hull City, Watford and Everton manager guided Fulham back to the Premier League at the first attempt after succeeding Scott Parker in SW6 two summers ago and steered the Cottagers to tenth in the top flight last term.

Uncertainty also surrounds the future of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is upset at Fulham’s £52m valuation that the number nine fears could price him out of a big-money move to join Al-Hilal.
