Fulham have identified a Craven Cottage return for Sergio Rico as an alternative to signing Bernd Leno as protracted negotiations with Arsenal for the German international goalkeeper continue, according to various reports this afternoon.
Marco Silva wants to replace Marek Rodak as the Whites’ first-choice goalkeeper ahead of their return to the Premier League, but Arsenal are holding out for £15m for their 30 year-old third choice custodian, having rejected offers worth £8.5m and £10m for Leno, who is the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium. Fulham are still hopeful of concluding a deal bring Leno across the capital – with the player currently in Florida on Arsenal’s pre-season tour – but are considering other options with their opening game against Liverpool only sixteen days away.
Rico spent the 2018/2019 campaign on loan with Fulham from Sevilla, conceding 59 goals in 32 games after replacing Marcus Bettinelli in the starting line-up as the Whites were relegated from the top flight. The Spanish international then moved to Paris Saint-Germain but has struggled for game time at the Parc des Princes and spent the second half of last season on loan with Mallorca. The 28 year-old was dropped after letting in six goals against relegation rivals Granada and made just fifteen appearances as Javier Aguirre’s outfit beat the drop by a single point.
We need to stick with signing Leno and pay what arsenal are wanting. We all saw what rico wasn’t capable off when he was on loan last time.
This is not a good move, Rico’s record speaks loud and clear and it hasn’t got any better since he left us. Why is Rodak likely to be considered a second choice keeper?

Not a good choice. He has failed once already at Fulham.
He’s one of the worst keepers I’ve seen in a Fulham shirt, don’t think l could stand watching him again. He was not better than Betts at the time. Know we’re near as good as Rodak. If we can’t get better than that leave it. He would take us down what ever defenders we sign
Absolutely bloody hopeless. Forest have signed two good keepers, but we seem unable to negotiate our way out of a paper bag. Just get rid of Tony Khan. The man is a total liability.
I think the only way that the Khan’s will learn anything is if we go back down to league 1. Perhaps then they will learn the real cost of their delusions-learning from history-Sergio Rico?
Just pay the money for Leno ffs! Rico can’t catch a cold!
This has to be a joke or a crude negotiation trick . Keep Rodak or just bite the bullet and pay for Leno .
We have gone through a number of gks these last 5 seasons, most, with maybe the exception of Aerola were a disappintment. Rodak may not be a top top shot stopper but if we are not getting Leno i think Rodak should get his chance.

How could Silva possibly approve the recruitment of just another keeper-one who can’t cut it at any club -including our own where we all witnessed, first hand, that he wasn’t good enough? It’s just not feasible.
We’ve already got a keeper who’s not good enough in Gazzaniga!
Marek Rodak is levels above this guy.
On a day when Lingard signed for Forest on 200k per week (which is greed personified) and we get told that Rico is our latest target, I am REALLY beginning to have concerns about the way this window has been conducted.
I can only suspect that our manager feels the same way.
We were Champions for God’s sake. We were guaranteed promotion before that. We had the time AND the money to really prove that lessons had been learnt and, what’s more, both Silva and T Khan assured us that that was the case.
Yet, here we are, YET AGAIN, on the precipice of disaster because NOTHING has been done to strengthen the positions that EVERY Fulham fan knew were priorities.
Maybe, just maybe, there is something actually going on behind the scenes that no paper has got wind of. I’m clutching at straws and I’m an eternal optimist but that bloody clock is ticking.

Everyday TK keeps coming out with Gems like this when they say you can laugh or cry and just want to cry my eyes out in my nearly 70 years in suporting My Beloved Fulham I have never seen or heard transfer inadequacy like this we played the best football I have seen at the Cottage this season just gone I in my seventy or so years had my blood pressure go up with sheer excitement of fantastic team performances and thoroughly deserved Champions we were but yet again my blood pressure is beginning to boil again for different reasons this time what happened to the Leno signing Diop Signing I see inadequacy,incompetence,selfishness of a certain TK why is this Man still in a job if I made mistakes when I was working I would be sacked how can TK justify the signing of this goalkeeper promises made and many more promises broken to justify TKs ego if this signing goes ahead I will give my Season ticket back and get a Refund
