A great scoop from Fulham fan Rhys Daly at the Daily Star earlier today.

You might remember in the aftermath of Roy Hodgson’s departure that Mark Schwarzer and Fulham spent the summer in a stand off over a potential move to Arsenal. The Australian goalkeeper has finally revealed that the stumbling block that ended the Gunners’ interest was Fulham’s valuation: £10m.

Holding for £10m for a 37 year-old goalkeeper seems very Mohamed Al-Fayed. The Fulham chairman even conducted one of the meetings with an irate Schwarzer at Craven Cottage – and the Whites ended up keeping hold of one of their star performers.
