Fulham goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond produced a stupendous double save as Boreham Wood pulled off the shock of this season’s FA Cup by knocking out Scott Parker’s Bournemouth this evening.
The 21 year-old keeper had little to do in a first half where the Championship promotion contenders dominated possession but failed to muster up a shot on target. He athletically pushed a shot from Ryan Christie onto the crossbar and then palmed Philip Billing’s header onto the near post. Ashby-Hammond made two more late saves from Jack Stacey and Todd Cantwell to keep his tenth clean sheet in fourteen appearances.
The National League side booked a money-spinning trip to Everton in the fifth round thanks to Mark Ricketts’ first half strike.

A thoroughly enjoyable watch for so many reasons.
Fulham do very well at producing young goalkeepers, don’t they?
Brilliant double save and ironic that it should be against his old manager’s team.
Make no mistake, Scott Parker is on dodgy ground.
Bournemouth fans have not been happy with his Parkerball possession for possession’s sake philosophy all season but, as they kept picking up points, they stayed relatively quiet.
Their latest run of dire performances however, culminating in Boreham Wood’s amazing victory, has unleashed the ire of the supporters and they made their feelings towards Parker very clear during and after the game.
The Bournemouth podcasters have also been extremely vocal in their condemnation of the way Parker sets the team up.
Parker’s interviews after the Hull defeat and, again, after the cup loss, clearly show a guy that is under pressure and, as he said himself: it’s all about the Birmingham game now.
It seems crazy that fans should be unhappy when their team is 3rd with 2 games in hand over the team above them but, as all Fulham fans know, it’s the way that Parker chooses his teams to play that is the issue.
As for Ashby-Hammond -what a loan this has proven to be and he now gets to strut his stuff at Goodison Park. Love it!
