Fulham full back Cyrus Christie’s proposed move to Swansea City has collapsed, according to reports from Wales this afternoon.

Talksport’s football correspondent Alex Crook had earlier reported that the Republic of Ireland international was set to end his frustrating spell on the Craven Cottage sidelines by joining Swansea as a direct replacement for Manchester United youngster Ethan Laird, who was loaned to Bournemouth by the Old Trafford outfit. But a Wales Online story in the last few minutes suggests that the deal taking Christie to south Wales has fallen through.

Christie, who won two Championship promotions with Fulham, is desperate to secure a move away from Craven Cottage this month to revive his international career after making just one appearance for the Whites this season.
