Fulham boss Scott Parker is being seriously considered as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur, according to a Football Insider report this afternoon.

Daniel Levy’s search for a new manager has hit a few roadbumps since the sacking of the former Chelsea boss with Julian Nagelsman opting to join Bayern Munich and Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers ruling himself out of the running. Tottenham have yet to give up hope of luring the former Liverpool and Celtic manager away from the King Power Stadium, but they do hold a significant interest in offering Parker, a former Spurs midfielder, a return to north London.

The 40 year-old is highly regarded by Tottenham’s board, in part because of how he stepped into his first coaching role with the club’s under-18 side, but also after he has kept a Fulham side that looked like relegation certainties in the opening weeks of the Premier League in with a shout of survival. Parker has won plenty of praise after guiding the Cottagers back to the top flight via the play-offs in his first full season in management and would represent a far cheaper option than Rodgers.
