Matteo Musacchio’s impressive Serie A form has reportedly caught the eye of Premier League duo Fulham and Watford.

There were big things expected of Fulham when they spent over £100 million in preparation for life back in the Premier League. But The Cottagers’ shoddy defence has so far proved to be the undoing of Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.

The 5-1 home defeat to Arsenal on Sunday means Fulham have conceded more goals (21) than any other team in the top flight as it stands. So no wonder the Londoners are already planning to bring a new centre-back to Craven Cottage in Janaury.

According to Calciomercato, Fulham are keen to sign AC Milan defender Matteo Musacchio.

This is not the first time Fulham have been linked with the Argentine, Giancluca Di Marzio claiming in June that they’d made a bid for a player who moved to the San Siro from Villarreal in 2017 for £16 million.

Calciomercato adds that Watford are keen too. Javi Gracia’s side have been fairly solid in an impressive start to the season but that unravelled in the humiliating 4-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday with Christian Kabasele sent off in the first-half.

Musacchio endured a difficult debut season in Italy but has stepped up in recent weeks, starting all of their seven league games and impressing under Gennaro Gattuso.
