Fulham are facing a battle with Newcastle United and Leeds United as they try and tempt French free agent Harold Voyer to London, according to reports from France.

Newly-promoted Newcastle are regarded as the clear favourites to land the promising centre back, who was released at the end of his contract with PSG earlier this summer. But the 20 year-old is rumoured to be looking for regular first-team football which he might not get as Rafa Benitez looks to rebuild his squad for the Magpies’ looming return to the top flight.

Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to draft in more defensive reinforcements as he seeks to build on the promise of last season’s late tilt at the play-off places, having only managed to sign Spanish centre half Marcelo Djalo so far this summer. Voyer, who had starred previously as the captain of PSG’s academy side, was a successful French Under 19 international and is also coveted by Leeds’ new manager Thomas Christiansen.

The left-footed defender is currently evaluating his next move, with interest from a number of European clubs to sit alongside the approaches from three English sides.
