Fulham forward Mladen Petric is a doubt for this weekend’s trip to Southampton after picking up a calf problem in training.

The Croatian international will be assessed by the club’s medical staff to see if he feature at St. Mary’s on Sunday after limping out of Fulham’s final training session at Motspur Park. Petric’s absence would be a significant blow to Martin Jol, who already has striking problems having rated Dimitar Berbatov’s chances of being involved at around 10%. The Bulgarian is battling both a hip and a thigh issue and is unlikely to be risked on the south coast.

Simon Davies and Mahamadou Diarra are still sidelined but Kieran Richardson is available having come through training unscathed this week. Ashkan Dejagah, Philippe Senderos and Kerim Frei are set to feature for Fulham’s reserves against Chelsea at Craven Cottage this evening – and Jol will decide whether any of the trio travel to Southampton after that game.
