Brede Hangeland says Fulham know how vital it is to pick up on more points on the road as they prepare to travel to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Martin Jol’s side recorded only their second away win of the season at QPR a fortnight ago and the Norwegian central defender hopes Fulham can replicate their fine away form from the end of last year.

Last year we managed to get some really good results in the second half of the season away from home. If we can keep our home form going and get some more away wins this season, we’ll do really well.

We’re aware of the importance of the task of getting more points away from home. Hopefully we can continue this weekend against Aston Villa.

We’re working on the way we play every day in training. We’re trying to play in the most efficient way and be as strong as we can and on Sunday we certainly did that so maybe we need to try and go away from home and try to play exactly like we do at home.
