Today’s Telegraph claims that Fulham are lining up Carlton Cole as a possible replacement for Bobby Zamora.

West Ham are not keen on selling their main striker as they try and return to the Premier League at the first attempt. The Hammers rejected a £4m bid from Turkish side Galatasaray in August and are hoping to sign a new striker to partner Cole in the January transfer window.

Martin Jol has been a long-time admirer of the England international having tried to sign him when he was in charge of Tottenham. He was linked with a move for the former Chelsea forward after taking over at Fulham last summer but no formal bid was forthcoming. The 28 year-old has scored 50 goals in 184 appearances for West Ham and has found the net eight times in 19 Championship appearances this season. The Telegraph suggests that Jol could be prepared to make a £4m offer for the 6ft 3in striker and repeats previous links with Doncaster’s Billy Sharp.
