Aaron Hughes says that Northern Ireland cannot have any slip ups going into tonights game against Serbia at Windsor Park. The Fulham centre back admits that Northern Ireland have not made it to any major finals recently due to losing crucial matches close to the end of qualifying and he is hoping that the boys can avoid the same tonight.

“There’s less room for error so a win for us over Serbia now would really put us in an excellent position.

“We’ve been in this position before in terms of where we are in the group, and in both the previous campaigns we’ve missed out.

“Hopefully we’ve learned from those and we can overcome any little mistakes we made.

“I don’t think there’s a particular reason for why we missed out last time but we lost games at crucial times.

“In the latter stages of the campaign there’s less room for error because there isn’t the time to recover.”

I’ll be taking up my usual seat right behind one of the goals, infact its the goal in which Hughesy scored his first for his country just a few weeks ago, for tonights match and can hardly wait! Serbia aren’t allowed fans so the whole stadium will be green and the atmosphere, as usual up at Windsor Park, is going to be fantastic. A win is all we can take as we are sitting in 3rd place, 2 points behind 2nd place but with a game in hand. So come on boys, lets get the job done!
