Martin Jol says he is still hopeful of signing a couple of new players before the transfer window shuts.

The new Fulham manager has had a busy summer at Craven Cottage reshaping the squad he inherited from Mark Hughes. The Dutchman has already signed Hungarian goalkeeper Csaba Somogyi, former Liverpool left back John Arne Riise and midfielders Marcel Gecov and Pajtim Kasami but is still looking to strengthen his squad.

I’m happy with the squad we have got, if they are fit. That is probably not realistic though so that’s why we are looking for one or two additions.

Jol has confirmed that he won’t be upping his bid for Cameron Jerome, however. Fulham had a £3m offer for the Birmingham striker rejected earlier this month and are now likely to switch their attention to other targets. Jol is reportedly searching for a striker as back-up for Bobby Zamora and has also been linked with Lens right back Serge Aurier.
