Swansea are in talks with Fulham over a loan switch for defender Rafik Halliche.

The former Benfica defender joined Fulham last summer after impressing for Algeria against England in the 2010 World Cup. But the 24 year-old centre back has made just two first-team appearances – with his first season at Craven Cottage interrupted by injury – and appears to well down Martin Jol’s pecking order.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in defensive reinforcements with skipper Garry Monk still sidelined by a foot injury and Alan Tate now out with a broken leg sustained when he crashed a golf buggy.
