Leeds United are close to admitting defeat in their bid to sign Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale on loan.
Fulham’s insistence on inserting a 24-hour recall clause into the season-long loan deal was already a sticking point but the Premier League’s club demand for a loan fee seems to have scuppered any possibility of the 25 year-old moving to his hometown club. The Yorkshire Evening Post are linking Leeds, who are still searching for a replacement for the departed Kasper Schmeichel, with a move for Newcastle keeper Fraser Forster.
Ipswich are also in the race to loan Stockdale, as Lork noted on Thursday.
Bates , Grayson ….. time to pay for another mess u have got our club into !!!”
Grayson you are a disgrace, with the season nearly upon us we,re still waiting to sign the nobodies on free transfers that no one else wants.Stop the bullshit Bates and Grayson we,re sick of hearing the same old lies.
Love him or hate him you have got to respect Bates. He picked up the club when it was on its knees, a position not caused by him, and is slowly restructuring LUFC into a Premier League outfit without taking substantial financial risks. We have no bottomless pit of cash therefore growth has to be carefully managed. All of you who think Bates should be spending millions think back 10 years to the mess that Ridsdale left us in.
Bates is trying to turn Elland Road into some kind of out-of-town real estate developement using money that should be used to strengthen the squad. The sooner he goes, the better. There’s no need to return to the Ridsdale days but other clubs in the Championship, with smaller gates and lower ticket prices are proving more active in the transfer market than us. It’s all well and good having a wage structure that you want to stick to, but surely you’ve got to set that wage structure in-line with the teams you hope to be competing with – and I’m not talking about the three teams relegated from the Prem last season – look at the likes of Ipswich, Derby, Cardiff etc.
Whoah – where did all these disgruntled northerners come from..? Hope this stockdale loan stuff get’s sorted sooner rather than later as having them around the place is really starting to have an effect on my karma
