It remains to be seen whether Fulham remain interested in the young Bournemouth striker Danny Ings, but if Martin Jol wants to bring him to Craven Cottage he will have to fight off the attentions of Celtic.

Neil Lennon has apparently identified the 20 year-old as one of the men who could offer greater firepower up front and is reportedly ready to table an offer. Bournemouth value Ings, who scored eight goals as Bournemouth finished in the League One play-offs last season, at around £1.5m and will want to encourage a bidding war should they fail to persuade the youngster that his future lies with them. Fulham had a £1m bid for Ings rebuffed earlier this month.

The Talksport article also links the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Sunderland with Ings, who is expected to be part of England’s squad for the forthcoming Under-20 World Cup. Fulham’s interest in Ings surfaced during the dying embers of Mark Hughes’ reign at the Cottage, although it is thought that Academy director Huw Jennings is a big admirer of the Bournemouth forward.
