So we’ve started already – the offal has announced the arrival of Phillipe Senderos on a 3 year deal. As Dan pointed out earlier, Hodgson seems to do well at reviving careers so this could be the start of something beautiful. It also suggests that we might be quite active in this summer’s transfer window and bolster the squad ready for a full onslaught up the league table next season.
The thing that I found most interesting was Roy’s comment at the end;
I am very much looking forward to working with Philippe next season.
Is it very optimistic to read too much into this?
Gooner here. You’ve got yourself a top notch player there. Yes, he’s had a bit of a rough patch, but it can’t be forgotten that he played a key role in the Arsenal defence that set a competition record of ten matches without conceding a goal in the Champions League. If Roy can get his head in the right place he’ll be a great servant for your club. Best of luck next season.
I can’t help feeling the same way. It’s a big signing and must have been heavily influenced by Roy’s involvement with the Swiss team in the past.
