Yesterday afternoon was full of busy transfer activity. Four Fulham players have joined Lincoln on a mixture of permanent and loan deals.
Adam Watts has been impressive during his loan spell at Sincil Bank and City manager Chris Sutton was delighted to sign him on a permanent basis. Watts, who progressed from the Fulham academy to the reserve side, has signed a contract until 2012 having made eleven appearances on loan for Lincoln.
Left back Joe Anderson, also a regular in the reserve side after being released by Chelsea, has signed a contract lasting until 2011. The pair have been joined at Lincoln by striker Michael Uwezu and midfielder Matthew Saunders, both of whom have agreed one-month loan deals.
Anderson has never impressed me. Watts has looked good, so a bit disappointed to see him leave. Must have a lot of faith in Smalling and Briggs. Hope we don’t let them sign Saunders permanently, I rate him.
I didn’t think Anderson was going to make it at Fulham but they gave him quite a run in the reserves having let some promising youngsters like Laribi go. Switching him from left back to centre back suggested they thought he had a future – although perhaps they were holding out for a fee.
Whilst Watts had potential, he’d have done awfully well to get into the first team picture given the depth of talent we’ve got at the back now.
