I saw the People linking us to the very promising Jack Wilshere on Sunday and thought very little of it. I suspect our need in January would be for a striker to finish the chances rather than a creative midfielder to make them. Knowing just how good Wilshere is, you wouldn’t turn your nose up at the prospect, though, would you? It would be a shame if our continued progress under Roy Hodgson scuppered Fulham’s chances of snaring one of English football’s brightest prospects, even if it would only be on loan. A few Arsenal loanees have flourished at Birmingham in the past too.

Can’t see this happening, really. Would Hodgson play a raw youth player like Wilshere who is only in on loan? So much depends on experienced players knowing Hodgson’s system inside-out and their roles within it.
In addition, that esteemed source of information The Metro claims that Fulham are after Jamie O’Hara, whilst our reported interest in Paul Scharner is only if the O’Hara deal doesn’t come off.
As soon as I heard that Wilshere was available I thought of Fulham. If we win on Wednesday and have more European matches then he could be an interesting loanee. I’d like this to happen!
