Several media outlets are including the news that Andy Johnson is in contention to make an earlier than expected return from injury on Sunday in their team news round-ups for the weekend’s games.

The Fulham striker broke his collarbone in the first leg of our Europa League victory over Amkar Perm back in August and had been expected to be out for eight weeks. He has apparently made excellent progress in recovering from his injury and could play some part against his former club Everton at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Given the way in which he and Bobby Zamora were linking up earlier in the season, this is excellent news.
