Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is being linked with another transfer bid for 27-year-old Wigan utility man Paul Scharner.

The Cottagers were reported to have made a £3million bid for the Austrian international back in the January transfer window but that bid was rejected.

Of course at the time both clubs were in serious relegation trouble so Scharner did not have much of a choice and Wigan boss Steve Bruce needed all the help he could get to avoid the drop.

Bruce would still be reluctant to release the midfielder/defender but with Wigan needing to strengthen during the summer a bigger offer from Fulham could well be attractive.
