EDIT: Tonight means tomorrow night for those of you who reads this during Tuesday. I got everything mixed up 🙁
Tonight we’ll get a visist from north west when Wycombe Wanderers will be looking for a night of ’gigant killing’. Especially since we have, on more than one occasion, been knocked out by teams from the lower leagues before. Most Fulham Fans will remember Leyton Orient from last season, a “given” victory before the game, but since this odd old game we call football isn’t always logical we lost. A well deserved loss too.
Hopefully we can learn from experience and not make the mistake of underestimating tonight’s opponents. To be honest I don’t know too much about the Wycombe Wanderers, my knowledge about the town is almost as slim as about the team. I did however work as a ski instructor in their ‘Astroturf slopes’ when I was studying in Oxford. But when it comes to their team my knowledge is as poor as the locals’ downhill skiing skills. We have one player on loan at Wycombe, our out of favour goalie Ricardo Batista. He will however not be playing ‘out of courtesy to their Premiership hosts’. Nice one, but very strange. Ricardo has so far this season kept 5 clean sheets, so courtesy or not, it seems very risky not using their first choice goal keeper.
According to Wycombes’ official home page tonites game is a sell out.
I trust that Coleman will rest a few of the players who worked so hard at White Hart Lane on Sunday. Most likely we’ll see Björn Runström start the game too.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeede!
Sell-out at the Cottage in the Carling Cup R2?
Their allocation that is, I’m not sure what happened yesterday. Got the day wrong, turned it into an away game, and messed up in general :/
Looking forward to seeing the young players go. I’ve predicted Bjorn’s first first-team goal for the Cottagers over on Fulham USA. Wish this were televised.
COYW!!
HatterDon, yeah it would be sweet if we could watch Björn putting the ball in the back of the net today (guess radio will have to make do)
A massive picture anyway. Made the day….
