Chris Coleman rubbished reports linking Steed Malbranque with a move away from the Fulham – after the French midfielder scored the winner against Everton on Saturday.

Malbranque’s influence in Coleman’s high-flying side was easy to ascertain as the Whites earned a crucial win over the Toffees at Loftus Road this weekend. He won the penalty from which the hosts went ahead after being fouled by Gary Naysmith and fired Fulham in front from the edge of the box seconds into the second half.

Coleman insisted that the former Lyon star is not for sale.

“Steed is outstanding. He’s tenacious, puts in a lot of work for the team and his technical ability is incredible. He’s the same as Louis – why would we sell our best players, especially halfway through the season?”
