Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar admitted he enjoyed his outstanding display as Chris Coleman’s side held the league leaders Arsenal to a goalless draw at the weekend.

The Dutch international pulled off a series of outstanding stops to help Fulham claim a precious point at Highbury and was deservedly named man of the match.

van der Sar, who made twelve saves in total as Arsenal laid siege to the visiting goal at times, told Fulham’s official website:

“It was quite busy but I must say that I enjoyed it very much. I know from experience that if you play an important Champions League match where you have to win or get a good result, it can take a little bit of concentration off the domestic games. That happened with Manchester United when they played Glasgow Rangers and we had to play them the Saturday after.”
