Leacock loaned to Coventry

Coventry City have signed central defender Dean Leacock on a month’s loan from Premiership side Fulham.

The 20-year-old former youth international, who is in the final year of a three-year contract with The Cottagers, goes straight into Peter Reid’s side for Saturday’s visit to Leeds United.

Leacock joins The Sky Blues after making only four appearances so far in his career with the West London club.

He graduated through Fulham’s youth ranks, having been tipped at the time to be in the same mould as Manchester United and England centre half Rio Ferdinand.

With Coventry recently selling Calum Davenport to Tottenham Hotspur, Leacock should fill a void in the centre back position with the Midlands outfit.

Djetou faces fitness test

Fulham will hand Martin Djetou a late fitness test as they sweat on the versatile Frenchman’s availability against bottom club Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow.

The on-loan Parma utility man has recovered from a minor abductor strain but will still be put through his paces to see whether he is up to the rough and tumble of Premiership football. Dean Leacock, who injured his hamstring in the 2-0 win against Leicester City, should also be available for selection.

Facundo Sava faces an anxious wait to see whether he requires surgery after injuring his shoulder in training a couple of weeks ago. The Argentinian striker is currently awaiting the verdict following a scan. Jon Harley, who returned from his loan spell at Sheffield United earlier this month after breaking a bone in his foot, may be back in action within the next month after the bone began to heal quicker than expected.
