Coventry City have signed central defender Dean Leacock on a month’s loan from Premiership side Fulham.

The 20-year-old former youth international, who is in the final year of a three-year contract with The Cottagers, goes straight into Peter Reid’s side for Saturday’s visit to Leeds United.

Leacock joins The Sky Blues after making only four appearances so far in his career with the West London club.

He graduated through Fulham’s youth ranks, having been tipped at the time to be in the same mould as Manchester United and England centre half Rio Ferdinand.

With Coventry recently selling Calum Davenport to Tottenham Hotspur, Leacock should fill a void in the centre back position with the Midlands outfit.
