Yeovil want to extend Fontaine loan

Yeovil Town boss Steve Thompson will seek to extend the loan deal of Liam Fontaine at Huish Park. The Fulham player has been highly-impressive for the Glovers in League One.

Versatile defender Fontaine is set for talks with Thompson in the coming days.

Thompson said: “Liam and I are going to be discussing the extension of his loan this week.

“He has still got a month left but it’s something I would like to resolve sooner rather than later.

“I want Liam to stay and I just need to speak to Liam and to Fulham.”

Thompson confirmed Fontaine will not feature in tonight’s League One clash at Brentford.

He has been recovering from an ankle injury and a bout of gastroenteritis which saw him lose some weight.

The Fulham man is hoping to be in contention for Saturday’s trip to Rotherham.

Fontaine joins Yeovil on loan

Fulham have allowed teenage defender Liam Fontaine to rejoin Yeovil Town on loan.

Fontaine spent the first half of last season with The Glovers and made 18 appearances for Gary Johnson’s side.

He then headed to Scotland for a spell with Kilmarnock as he waits to make the breakthrough at Craven Cottage.

The 19-year-old has made just two appearances for Fulham and has been given permission to move to Huish Park until the end of December.

Glovers boss Johnson is delighted to have brought Fontaine back to the club ahead of interest from other teams.

“Liam did fantastically well for us last season and I’m sure that everybody remembers him,” Johnson said.

“He had a couple of other clubs interested in him but chose to come back to Yeovil and we are very pleased with that.”

Yeovil loan Fontaine

Fulham central defender Liam Fontaine has joined League One side Yeovil Town on loan until January.

It will be the Academy graduates’ second loan spell at Huish Park after he enjoyed a successful spell under Gary Johnson last season.

Kilnarnock take Fontaine on loan

Kilmarnock have signed Fulham defender Liam Fontaine on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan to Yeovil before making his Fulham debut against Southampton earlier this month.

He was then named man of the match in Fulham’s FA Cup tie against Watford this month.

Fontaine will be included in the Kilmarnock squad for Sunday’s Scottish Premier League game against Celtic.
