Summer signing Emile Smith Rowe has declared himself ‘really happy’ at Fulham and hopes to build his strong start to life at Craven Cottage.
The England international, who joined for an initial £27m in July, had an immediate impact in pre-season and scored his first Fulham goal in the win over Leicester. Smith Rowe told FFCTV:
I’m really happy here. The players, the staff and the fans have made me feel very welcome. The manager has given me the opportunity to show what I can do. He has given me the opportunity and the freedom to express myself on the pitch. I’m really happy with my start and just looking to keep it up.”
The attacking midfielder reflected with pride on opening his Fulham account with a well-taken goal against Leicester City and is looking forward to locking horns with West Ham United this weekend.
It was definitely a big relief for me to score my first goal in a couple of seasons – and doing it front of all the Fulham fans and my family were there as well. It was a really proud moment, a proud day. Preparations [for West Ham] have been good. It’s been a good week for training, the international boys have come back in and we’ll be ready for Saturday.
