Raul Jimenez was frustrated that Fulham failed to hold onto a valuable victory over West Ham United after letting in a last-gasp equaliser from Danny Ings at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

The Mexican veteran made it two goals from two starts so far this season when he calmly converted a clever cutback from Emile Smith Rowe and it looked as the Whites would emerge victorious from the first London derby of the season until substitute Ings punished some poor defending in the last minute of added time.

A disappointed Jimenez told FFCTV after the final whistle:

“We lost two points, instead of winning one. We made a good game but at the end you need to be concentrated and fully focused to get the three points. It’s the Premier League and every team is going to keep going until the last minute, so we need to focused right until the end.

We had some opportunities there [to make 2-0], we needed to be more clinical to finish the game before. At 2-0, it would have been impossible for them to come back. We need to be more focused and decisive in the final third – but it is only the beginning [of the season], this will come.

It was a good emotion getting my first start of the season in the Premier League and getting my first goal. It was a great feeling for me and I want to continue like this. Emile did brilliantly for the goal. He went to the byline to get the ball, he controlled it and I was able to divert it into the goal after some great movement. I’m happy to be scoring when I am starting. I want to keep working like that to keep getting these opportunities and getting the team the results that we want.”
