Midfielder Chris Donnell has signed a new contract with Fulham, the club have confirmed this morning.

The engine room enforcer had an immediate impact after joining the Whites from Perth Glory last year, becoming a fixture in Hayden Mullins’ under-21 side before enjoying a successful loan spell with Airdrieonians, for whom he played sixteen times. Donnell has agreed a new one-year deal with Fulham holding an option to extend the contract by a further year.

The Australian under-20 international told the club’s official website:

“I’m buzzing to sign a new deal and hopefully I can kick on now. Last year was a big year for me. I enjoyed spending the first six months of the season here, but then I felt it was right to go out on loan and get some first team minutes, which I really enjoyed and I learned a lot. This year, I want to add numbers to my game and influence the team; whether that’s defensively or going forward with goals and assists.”
