Fulham centre back Ibane Bowat is set for a £500,000 move to Portsmouth this afternoon, according to the Sun.
The Scottish under-21 international is poised to undergo a medical on the south coast after the Championship newcomers and the Cottagers agreed a deal that includes a 50% sell on clause.
The move would end five years with the Whites for the elegant defender, who never made a first-team appearance despite being pivotal in Fulham’s under-18 Premier League south title defence in his first season at Motspur Park and helped the under 23s win promotion back to the top tier of academy football. The 21 year-old enjoyed impressive spells on loan at Den Bosch and TSV Hartberg and had attracted interest from AC Milan and a number of continental clubs but is set to supplement John Mousinho’s defence.
Equally comfortable at left back or in the centre of defence, Bowat has been capped five times by Scotland’s under-21 side.
