Fulham have rejected a bid for Birmingham for striker Jay Stansfield.
The 21 year-old scored thirteen goals in his loan spell at St. Andrew’s last season and was voted the club’s player of the season despite being unable to prevent Blues from dropping into League One. Birmingham have offered a structured deal that could be worth up to £6m for Stansfield, but Fulham turned down the offer – and have also rebuffed loan approaches from several Championship clubs – as head coach Marco Silva sees the England under-21 international as part of his first team squad.
Keep him at the club and give the boy the chance he deserves
Part of the first team squad this season?
Be silly to let him go give him chance this season he’s got the right attitude to make it,can play few positions. Never know mite start getting goals in premiership, great work rate won’t let anyone down
He misses too many to be a premier league regular. His effort and workrate however is phenomenal. He was excellent for us last season but the banded figure of £6m is way over the top. I really hope he makes it at the top because he’d a smashing lad.
It’s not even a true story Birmingham haven’t made any bid for him. This was just Rumours. You may as well believe stories on Disney+
Give the boy a chance, Muniz was given a chance and now look at him. What is the point of taking young boys investing a lot of time and effort developing them and then letting them go somewhere for nothing….. look at Harvey Elliot (Liverpool) and Matt O’Riley (Celtic).
We will regret letting JS leave and then wonder what might have been….
We need to believe in our young players like Barcelona do with theirs….. Pedri, Lamal, Gavi to name a few
Come of Fulham give him a chance, I think he will do very well!!!
Let’s give this lad a chance he’s Fulham thru and thru if we let him go it will come back and bite us on the backside so come on Marco lets give him the No 9 shirt he will improve under Marco Oh I forgot we’ve got Tony Khan Oh dear so he will sell him anyway Ah well never mind
I’m starting to think Marco doesn’t have any say in transfer business or why are we doing nothing.
Agree with everything said. Stop the rot and give him his chance, deserves it. We don’t have many other options anyway.
John B, think you’re about right.
he is a better option than Carlos Vinicius who we cannot get rid of and Jiminez who is well past his best. Marco indicated he is part of his plans especially as we have signed nobody so what has changed. If we were offered 15 million then perhaps it is a possibility. 6 million is absurd. What is going on at our club
Jay was outstanding for us last season. The kid can play anywhere across the forward line. I do hope we get him can’t see that happening though, too many championship clubs have joined the race to capture him. Anyway. all the best to you guys next season. you look like a good prem team now I enjoyed watching some of your games
Thanks for the compliments, I hope your assessment is accurate.
Good luck with your season.
