Fulham are set to resume their attempts to sign Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith, according to Alan Nixon.
The Whites were the first club to approach the Gunners about signing the England international earlier this summer and have seen two bids rejected to date. Arsenal are willing to sell the 23 year-old in this window to improve their PSR position and Marco Silva has reportedly identified Smith-Rowe as one of his top targets.
Smith Rowe, who can operate as a winger or a number ten, has attracted interest from a host of Premier League and continental clubs. He has scored eighteen goals in 115 appearances for Arsenal and has won three senior international caps for his country, finding the target for Gareth Southgate’s side in San Marino in November 2021.
The departure of Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who joined newly-promoted Leicester City on a free transfer yesterday, and Willian’s decision to reject Fulham’s offer of a new deal has made the recruitment of a new left winger a priority.
Love to see him in a Fulham shirt here but little worry about his injuries record.Hope he is fully recovered and could be a fantastic signing !!!!!
Why do we always haggle over the price? We have had 2 offers rejected and he will probably go to another team if we don’t get our act together. Other clubs have already signed 3 or 4 players and all we are doing is losing players, that says everything about our lack of ambition.
Wow…very savvy conclusion made…signing a left winger is now a “priority” as we have none after Willian and BDR left.
Very perceptive….I wonder if having no left wingers left makes negotiations to sign a great left winger easier or more difficult.
Sign some players before theyre all gone. Hurry up!! Palhinha gone. We have $100 mill to spend. Buy 3 players and sign some out of contract if we can’t get willian again. Drives u crazy when every other club around us has made moves.
Sign him up Tonka he wants regular football at this rate he might be out there playing on his own.COYW
Stop fiddling around a sign him plus urgently a good central defender
I like that this is a signing that Marco is pushing for and I look forward hopefully to seeing him in a Fulham shirt. Willian did the same to us last summer – to be honest, I think we’ve seen the best of him and believe he will head to the land of sand (and good luck to him). We have a pre-season tournament at the end of the month and need to get players in – it’s not that we don’t have the money (with the cash from Mitro and the sainted Palhinha). Left winger, striker and centre back seem glaringly urgent but, sorry to keep banging on about this, we need a full-time Director of Football who knows the game. Boy Khan may be alright for NFL and cage fighting, but he needs to be more aggressive or we will lose our targets and be left playing catch-up (again). This Portugeese tournament looks very exciting and a game against The Bus Stop in Hounslow is always worth a coat of looking at. COYW!!!
