Cardiff City are keen on signing Fulham forward Jay Stansfield, according to BBC Sport.
The Bluebirds are looking for striking reinforcements this summer as they prepare for the new campaign with a pre-season training camp in Austria. The Whites turned down a bid from Birmingham City, where Stansfield scored thirteen goals on loan last season, for the England under-21 international earlier this week.
Fulham head coach Marco Silva believes Stansfield can play a role in the Premier League this season and the Cottagers have rejected a number of loan offers from Championship clubs already over the summer.
We need to retain Stansfield and give him a chance. How many more players. Marco expressed his wishes to retain him so why are we considering letting him go He in my opinion is a far better option than CV and Jiminez. With no incomings still we will be lucky to field a team when the season starts
Silly to let him go must be in squad this season scored goals last two seasons in lower leagues and not injured young got to be better risk than Smith Rowe hardly played for two years lots of injuries does not really want to leave Arsenal, and they want over 30m for him as good as he was that’s a bad risk only way I would sign him would be loan with obligation to buy if he plays 30 games
I don’t see Jay as a risk. He cost nothing, he’s enthusiastic and will fight tooth and nail to get and retain his place. Marco said that he was part of this year’s squad, so what’s changed? Probably Teflon and TK penny pinching again under the name of “sustainability”.
What the hell is going on here why.Mr Khan are we selling Jay Stansfield?he is Fulham thru and thru he’s miles better than Vinicius and Jimenez we can sell this lad but can’t bring anybody in how much more crap have we as fans got to take from our inept Dof F his Dad is to blame for giving him the job I thought we were going to get a replacement for Palinha first then he can leave Our DoF is not fit for purpose if you work as a manager for a company and you are not doing your job properly they sack you I hope Stansfield does leave and when he becomes a successful goalscorer and comes back to play against us and scores it won’t be Jays fault we will know who to blame we are a laughing stock I I feel for all those loyal fans like myself who brought a season ticket in May thinking it can only get better why does Marco Silva keep putting up with this
It would be madness to let JS go and not give him a go this season. If this season is a success then great, if not I am sure he can go for more money next year with a EPL season under his belt.
I am sure we will not sell him because we cannot seem to get ANYONE in. We are 2 things:
1 – development club for young players, which we sell to bigger clubs
2 – a club where washed-up players come to for an indian summer…Willian, Danny Murphy
How on Earth anyone can slag off Willian and Murphy by referring to them as washed up is utterly beyond me and an insult to them! Both have been brilliant for us. Both proved exactly the opposite of being ‘washed up’! We’re not Man City!
Willian and Murphy were great and I suspect the former still is…who can blame him for being induced by far more money and an easier schedule…
I am pleased to read that so many of you are beginning to worry about Marco.
He’s the reason Willian signed for us and Pahlinha too… he sold them his vision of an ambitious club aiming for Europe playing fluid football.
One has to wonder what he thinks now but I hope he sees a future he can be part of.
Look at our fixture list upcoming…if we were ready for it we could steal a march…
The number one priority is survival in the Prem.
Afraid there’s no Luton, Sheffield United or Burnley’s this year…Ipswich’s signings are good, Greaves great…dusting off our yo-yo’s?
SteveD bang on. Danny Murphy saved us and then revitalised us. Garry is obviously confused about FFC history.
