Bayern Munich believe they can complete the signing of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha before the start of the European Championships, according to reports from Germany.

The 28 year-old Portugal international saw a proposed £60m switch from Craven Cottage to the German giants collapse last September, but Sky Germany reported on Friday that Bayern were ready to resurrect their interest as they look to bolster their engine room options having finished third in the Bundesliga last summer. Reporter Florian Plettenburg says that Bayern, who have already verbally agreed terms with the player, are in advanced negotiations with Fulham and are confident that they can clinch a £38.28m deal before the Euro 2024 tournament gets underway on Friday.

Reports from AZ Munchen also claim that Palhinha has had a positive discussion with new Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany and that a deal with Fulham is very close.
