Fulham are lining up a summer swoop for the Atletico Madrid centre back Caglar Soyuncu, according to the Sun.
The Cottagers will need to bring in additional centre backs after Tosin Adarabioyo turned down a contract extension to leave Craven Cottage on a free transfer this summer and will reignite their long-standing interest in the former Leicester City defender, who is currently on loan at Fenerbahce.
Soyuncu, who Fulham previously tried to sign from Leicester, was a target in January, when he was made available for loan after struggling to hold down a first-team spot at Atletico. The Turkish international is likely to leave Diego SImeone’s side this summer, despite having three years on his current contract.
The Spanish giants would prefer a permanent deal but Fulham could construct a loan with a possible purchase option as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of a third consecutive campaign in the top flight.
If Tony Khan gets involved in this transfer then this deal will go nowhere. What happened to the deals for Andre and Paia from Brazilian sides which i read were almost certain to happen. Nothing as usual, when Khan plays his smoke and mirrors games with the fans. We need major investment in quality players, but we buy rejects, injury prone or over the hill players for peanuts. Bassey a poor buy, Mpabu rubbish, other cheap buys and loans all provided to be hopeless.
We need two quality centre backs, a striker of quality a creative midfielder and another quality full back., as well as keeping Palhinho at the club next season.
Soyuncu and Chalobah from Chelsea would help the defence as would Tierney from Arsenal at full back and with Harmer from Sheffield Utd in midfield. For the striker we need Ivan Toney.
Dream on antiqueman
Maybe we’ll pick up something in the bargain basement
Hey Antiqueman wake up and smell the coffee. We are talking about Fulham here. Your shopping bill would be close to £200 million which will never happen and if it did how many points would we be deducted for overspending. Judging by the scenes at the end of the Man City game at the Hammy End Paulinha is already on his way.
Could Fulham ever make a swoop. TK leaves it to last hour of the window and thinks he is smart. Thats why we have lost so many potential good players since he has been involved. He will lose Marco sooner than later. Let him sort out the pathetic Riverside Stand COYW
