Fulham’s Sam Amissah played his second game of the European Under-17 Championships this evening, but England suffered a second half collapse as Portugal romped to a 4-1 success.

Rodrigo Mora opened the scoring for the Portuguese, but Mikey Moore equalised just before half time with his third goal of the competition. But Portugal were rampant after the break with Mora quickly tapping in his second. England pushed for a leveller and were denied by a few smart stops from Diogo Ferreira. Gabriel Silva and Afonso Patrão punished the young Three Lions as they poured forward in search of an equaliser.

England will now need a positive result from their final group game against Spain on Monday in order to progress to the quarter finals.
