Jay Stansfield scored the twelfth goal of his loan spell at Birmingham City as the Blues beat Coventry City 3-0 at St. Andrew’s yesterday and moved out of the Championship relegation zone.

You can see Stansfield’s goal below:

The England under-21 international rounded off the scoring by clipping a clever finish past Bradley Collins after his intelligent run was spotted by Tyler Roberts. Stansfield’s strike, which he celebrated by climbing onto an advertising hoarding and saluting the Tilton End, followed a first-half own goal from Bobby Thomas and a powerful finish from Ivan Sunjic as the hosts cruised to a vital victory.

Birmingham are now a point above the drop zone in 21st place, with a superior goal difference to Huddersfield Town, who were denied a crucial win at Bristol City by Nakhi Wells’ penalty in the tenth minute of added time. Blues travel to rock-bottom Rotherham United, who have already been relegated, next Saturday.
