Joao Palhinha has played down the prospect of a move away from Fulham this summer – telling DAZN Portugal that he’s ‘calm, stable and happy’ at Craven Cottage.
The Portuguese international was asked directly about his future by the broadcaster following his aborted move to Bayern Munich last September. Palhinha replied:
“I’m calm, I want to finish the season in the best possible way. The Euros are coming up. I want to finish these games in good shape. Everything else doesn’t worry me. I’m calm, stable and happy. I don’t want to be bothering my head with things that don’t make sense now. I want to play football and help Fulham win these five games.”
The 28 year-old, who has made 76 appearances for Fulham since signing from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2022, is under contract with the Whites until the summer of 2028, with the club holding a option of a further year’s extension.
All I’ve read of the interview is the quote above. I’m not sure that does anything to say he’s not going to leave. Although is it me…but I don’t think he’s been quite as sharp since the Bayern episode.?
Yes,but the fact is the lad is 28 going to 29,l really can not see any big clubs opening 50 quid on him with no resale value!! That’s why l think he is staying!!
@Baljit – big teams don’t sign players thinking about resale, they sign players to win trophies
All true. I hope he stays, he would be difficult for us to replace and I guess equally difficult to improve upon.
