Marco Silva says Fulham won’t be rushing to offer Rodrigo Muniz an improved contract on the back of his remarkable goalscoring form over the past six weeks.

The 22 year-old striker has scored eight goals in eight games since being reintroduced into the starting line-up at the start of February. He is the Premier League’s highest scorer in 2024 and earned a below-par Fulham side a point at bottom of the table Sheffield United on Saturday with a stunning stoppage-time bicycle kick.

Reports from Brazil claim that there is growing interest in the former Flamengo forward after his sensational form, but Silva told the Evening Standard that he is not worried about keeping hold of the in-form striker.

“He signed five years in 2021 and there is an option [for another year] in the contract. Are we going to do something soon or summer or next season? We have to wait. We are calm about that situation. It’s not going to be situations like contracts that will disturb his run.”
