Fulham have been fined £75,000 by the Premier League and handed a suspended six-month ban “from registering any academy players currently or previously registered with another club”.
The Whites have been punished for ‘unauthorised payments’ made by Balham Blazers FC following a Premier League investigation after they followed through on an agreement stuck with Fabio Carvalho’s first club once the midfielder moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2022.
Portuguese under-21 international Carvalho joined Fulham’s academy from Balham in December 2014 and a brief Premier League statement said that Fulham “accepted breaches of the Premier League rules in relation to player registrations”.
