Fulham forward Kieron Bowie will say goodbye to Sixfields tomorrow when he plays the final home game of a second successive loan season with Northampton Town against Exeter City.

The Scottish under-21 international was instrumental in the Cobblers’ promotion from League Two last term and has been a pivotal part of Jon Brady’s side in League One this season, alongside his compatriot Marc Leonard, who has also spent two seasons with Northampton on loan from Brighton.

Bowie told BBC Radio Northampton:

“It’s a bit strange for us to have both been here for two seasons, it’s almost felt like a two-year contract, but it’s part and parcel of the game and you come and go places. But obviously it’s special to have been here for two years. The fans have given us their support and we’ve tried to repay that. You see a lot of loans that don’t work out but it’s worked out really well for both of us. We were just young lads hoping for a chance when we first came here and we got that chance and thankfully we took it and I can’t thank the club enough.”

The former Raith Rovers forward has scored fourteen goals in 83 games for Town, adding nine assists. The 21 year-old emotional Sixfields farewell will see him pitted against his Fulham team-mate Luke Harris, who has been shining whilst on loan at Exeter in recent weeks.
