Fulham first team coach Luis Boa Morte met with graduates from the Made in Fulham coaching development programme pioneered by the Fulham Foundation last week.

Made in Fulham is a thirteen-week introduction to coaching for people aged between 18 and 25 and the latest cohort from the scheme were invited to celebrate their progression with a special event at Craven Cottage. Boa Morte, who began his own coaching career by helping out with the age group academy sides at Motspur Park after he hung up his boots, gave an insight into his own experience and the key qualities a successful coach needs.

It underlines to me just how big a miss Boa Morte will be when he leaves Fulham this summer to take over as the new national team coach of Guinea Bissau.

Shortlisting for the next stream of Made in Fulham applications is underway – you can express your interest via the Foundation’s website.
